BTLECo-author and Bluetooth specialist Carles Cufi joins us to talk about the book “Getting Started with Bluetooth Low Energy” from Oreilly:
With Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), smart devices are about to become even smarter. This practical guide demonstrates how this exciting wireless technology helps developers build mobile apps that share data with external hardware, and how hardware engineers can gain easy and reliable access to mobile operating systems.

We will have 2 copies of the book to give away, so be on IRC (http://vuc.me/irc) and be listening live on ZipDX or http://mixlr.com/voipusers because Youtube is delayed up to a minute.

This book provides a really good introduction to Bluetooth Low Energy technology. It describes what the BLE wireless standard is, basics of the protocol used, the Generic Access Profile, and the Generic Attribute Profile. It then goes on to cover tools for development and testing. The last chapters cover Android and IOS development platforms. Like every other OReilly book I have read it is excellent. The material is presented in logical order and it is not hard to grasp.” – Amazon reviewer.
